Johanne Thibeault
I have been a resident of the beautiful community of Brooks for the past six years. I am fluent in French & English. For years, genuinly wanting to help family and friends to relax and ease muscular pain, I would give them short massages. Little did I know then, that someday I would return to post-secondary studies to become a massage therapist! And that this would be the beginning of a truly fulfilling and most rewarding path… Finally in June of 2014, I became a Registered Massage Therapist with CMMOTA. I offer the services of relaxation, therapeutic (including TMJ) and pregnancy massages as well as other modalities such as professional cupping therapies, oncology massage, manual lymphatic massage, and foot reflexology. Once I began to see clients, I came to realize that many of their health concerns were out of my scope of practice as a registered massage therapist. I knew I needed more education. Hence, I ventured once again to post-secondary studies. After seven years of education, I am now a Practitioner of Natural Healing with a Doctorate of Natural Medicine, “DNM®”. I am trained in the area of study of body systems assessment that utilizes a system of drugless, non-invasive therapeutics in which only natural substances and techniques are used. The core philosophy of a DNM® is the prevention of disease and the re-establishment of homeostasis by activation of the natural healing process of the human body. I have been granted member licensure as a DNM® practitioner, for use in the capacity of denoting myself as having passed the qualification standards to attain a Level of Membership status with The EBNMP™. I adhere to the World Health Organization’s Benchmarks for Training in TM/CAM. My scope of practice as a Practitioner of Natural Healing includes: Eastern Medicine inclusive of Traditional Oriental Medicine & Ayurveda. Homeopathy. Energy Medicine & Healing: the study and use of subtle energies. Nutritional, Botanical & Lifestyle Medicine: The use of specific nutritional regimens and supplementation to prevent disease or help re-establish and harmonize body chemistry. Botanical and Herbal Remedies are used for their balancing and nutritional values. Through nutritional guidance, clients are educated in regard to environmental factors that affect their health and directed with respect to lifestyle management. Physiologic Therapy to include and not limited to: acupressure, reflexopathy, rehabilitative exercises, hydrotherapy. My ultimate intent is, first and foremost, to help you discover greater wellness and to help you succeed on your healing journey! Our biggest asset is our health. With it, we can accomplish anything. Each and every one of us has a responsibility, and that is to take care of ourselves. If we don’t, someone else will! Each of us are our best advocate. As you know, the body is a marvellous vessel. May you realize and understand that the ability to heal your body resides within you. Therefore, by creating a healing environment, the body has an enhanced opportunity to do the rest… My services do not involve medical diagnosing, prognosticating, treatment or prescribing medications, or any acts that constitute the practice of allopathic medicine, for which a Medical license is required. I look forward to meeting with you and applying my knowledge, experience and intent by providing services focused on your individual needs.
Please note that massage therapy is an independent modality from natural healing as they cannot be integrated into one session.
